Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
United Building Consultants ("UBC", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through unitedbuildingconsultants.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it — including in connection with advertising on platforms such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — and the rights you have, including specific rights for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA").
By using the Site or submitting a form, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Information you provide directly. When you fill out our contact form, request a free consultation, take our roofing quiz, or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the details you enter — such as your name, email address, phone number, company name, building or roof information, and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, referring URLs, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate the Site, understand how it is used, and measure and deliver advertising. See Section 4 for details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries, consultation requests, and quiz submissions;
- Provide roofing and building-envelope consulting services and recommendations;
- Send you our newsletter and marketing communications (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and deliver relevant ads;
- Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
3. Advertising and Analytics (Google and Meta)
We advertise on third-party platforms, including Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and we use their measurement tools on our Site. These tools may include the Google Ads tag, Google Analytics, and the Meta Pixel.
These technologies collect or receive information from the Site — such as pages you visit, actions you take (for example, submitting a form or completing our quiz), and device and browser information — and use it to:
- Measure conversions and attribute them to our ads;
- Build audiences and show you our ads on other websites, apps, and platforms (remarketing);
- Find new people similar to our visitors (lookalike or similar audiences); and
- Help us understand aggregate usage trends.
Third parties, including Google and Meta, may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect or receive information from the Site and use that information to provide measurement services and targeted ads. Under California law, some of this activity may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 6 for how to opt out.
You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and how Meta uses information in its Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies and How to Control Them
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies to make the Site work, and advertising/analytics cookies as described above.
You can control cookies and interest-based advertising in several ways:
- Set your browser to block or delete cookies (note some Site features may not work);
- Opt out of Google personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com and via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on;
- Adjust your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences;
- Use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative;
- Enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in a supported browser — we treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser.
5. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that host our Site, store form submissions, send email, provide analytics, and help us operate our business — under contracts limiting their use of your information;
- Advertising partners such as Google and Meta, as described in Section 3 (which California law may treat as a "sale" or "sharing");
- Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, insurers) as needed;
- Authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and property; and
- A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
6. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we disclose it;
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (including via a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit under the CPRA; and
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@unitedbuildingconsultants.com or use our contact form with the subject "Privacy Request". We will verify your request using the information we hold (for example, by confirming control of the email address associated with your request) and respond within 45 days as required by law. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization.
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1, used them for the purposes in Section 2, and disclosed identifiers and internet/activity information to service providers and advertising partners as described in Sections 3 and 5.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — for example, to respond to your inquiry, maintain our business records, and comply with legal obligations — after which it is deleted or de-identified. Form submission records used for spam prevention and rate limiting are retained only as long as necessary for security purposes.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
